Isn’t God amazing how he answers prayers? Something has been bothering me all break. Every day I have come to God and asked him to help me view it wisely and candidly. Yesterday, after some insightful discussions with my mother, and more deep prayer, a light within me turned on. Suddenly, the nagging, vague, inking of an indefinable feeling vanished. And magically it seems everything inside was set up right, organized, clear and certain. I felt at peace. I knew which direction to go.
I do the same thing when I am shopping. I pray before I make a purchase. And until I feel at peace with myself and my decisions, only then to I pull my wallet out. It works every time.
I think sometimes we know, deep inside, the truth of matter. Even the truth of God. In Romans, Paul tells us that we have no excuse to say there isn’t a God. It is quite obvious all around us that we are surrounded by His creations. It is only up to us if we choose to recognize His presence or not. Just like it is up to us to view in truth the reality of a situation.
I am notorious for trying to stuff a square block into a round circle. I am notorious for trying to make somebody into someone they just aren’t. I distrust myself so greatly, I question my motives, I make excuses for people, I feel at odds with someone and later convince myself that it was somehow a failing on my part. But enough is enough! Something life has taught me is that if it looks like a fish and acts like a fish and smells like a fish…then it IS a fish! Even if it tells you that it is a butterfly.
Sometimes when we pray so hard for something God gives it to us immediately. I think when we pray for wisdom and insight, God will graciously give it. We may not like the answer, but in the end the truth of a matter will set us free. And we will find peace.
