"Read your Bible. Read your Bible. Read your Bible."
If you are a student, I am sure you are familiar with the old adage that if a teacher says something three times then you can be sure it will be on the test.
I am also sure that most every student knows that if the teacher writes something on the board, it will usually appear on the test.
As Christians we need to read our Bible, and read it with purpose. Plain and simple. If you are too busy to read, then you are TOO busy. Can I repeat that? If you are too busy to read your Bible, then you are TOO busy! Can you really look God in the face and tell him, "Lord, I wanted to read the words of Life which you left for me, but...but... I was too busy with homework, or work, or chores, or etc."Spending time with God each day is like exercise, you have to keep up with it consistently or you will not see change in your life. You will not have that close, intimate relationship with God. If you start your morning thoughts with God then you are already set to go in the right direction.
Besides, I can't imagine a Christian who wouldn't want to read the Bible. It contains such beauty! Such perfection! Such life giving health. Read your Bible everyday, read Proverbs and see how you should be living your life. Read the Psalms and become encouraged, read John and hear the inspiring words of Jesus. I cannot tell you how your life will be improved! Rise each day an hour or half hour earlier, spend time with your Lord. Take a little Bible with you while you are waiting in line, or eating your lunch--spend time with God. Keep your Bible at your nightstand and read a few passages before you go to sleep--spend time with your Father! Our desire to read God's word is in direct correlation to how much love we have for him.
Luke 12:34 |
Diligently, sincerely, and humbly give God your life and he will transform all your inside and outside mess into amazing feelings of peace, joy, order, love, and purpose. You will grow closer to him. And when your desires become the desires of God, he will give you the delights of your heart. (Ps 37:4)
So read your Bible and grow closer to your God!
